Michael Flores, FNP-BC

Michael Flores is Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner at South Texas Bone & Joint, primarily working with patients in our Priority Care Clinics. His medical career began in 1994 as an EMT, followed by earning an Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy in 1998. Michael worked on the Transport Team at Driscoll Children’s Hospital before transitioning into nursing. As a registered nurse, he worked in both in the emergency room and the intensive care Unit at Laredo Medical Center. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2009) and a Master of Science in Nursing (2012) from Texas A&M International University. With over a decade of advanced practice experience, Michael has worked in emergency medicine, family practice, urgent care, and post-acute care/skilled nursing, consistently demonstrating his skills in diagnostics, treatment planning, and patient education. Michael’s professional achievements include working with organizations such as Legacy ER & Urgent Care, TeamHealth Emergency Services, Schumacher Emergency Services, Dispatch Health, Dr R Almanza, Centric Physicians and Gateway Community Health Center. He joined South Texas Bone and Joint as a seasoned Nurse Practitioner in 2024, bringing with him his experience making proper diagnoses and developing successful treatment plans while advocating for patient needs and providing expert care.
