Dr. Mike-Mayer has spent the last 20 years of his life in the great state of Texas which he now considers his home. He completed his fellowship at the well respected Geisinger Hospital where he underwent extensive training in a wide range of minimally invasive and open spine surgeries. He completed his residency at University of Texas Medical Branch on Galveston Island where he met his wife, a native of Galveston and vascular surgeon, and is now the proud father of two boys. He received his Medical Degree at the top of his class from the University of North Texas Health Science Center College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is an Alumni from the University of Texas at Austin where he received his Bachelors of Science in Biochemisty concurrently with his license in rescue scuba diving, which helped instill the importance of attention to detail, protocol, and communication early in his career. He grew up in Dallas where he was an All-state wrestler. This learned discipline helped him excel in his undergraduate and graduate studies and ultimately the rigors of medicine and orthopaedic training. He is passionate about providing comprehensive and targeted care to his patients and is honored to help treat the great people of Corpus Christi, Texas. When not providing care to his patients, he enjoys spending time with family, snow skiing, scuba diving, the Gulf coast, and traveling.
